Ever notice that all the people who say that racism is over are white?
There’s been an outcry over this week’s Rolling Stone cover, featuring the Boston bomber. Some stores are refusing to carry the issue, and many people are boycotting the magazine in complaint.
While everyone has the right to protest, and while stores have the right to not sell the magazine, I find myself more in support of the magazine than the protesters.
The best argument the protesters have is that terrorists and criminals should not be given any publicity because it could encourage copy-cats.
But then some are against the cover because then bomber “looks like a rock star” as if the magazine is promoting him — this despite the words on the cover calling him a “monster.”
But isn’t that the point of the article? Not all bad guys look like bad guys. Not all evil Mulsim terrorists look like bin Laden.
Also, this is news. Rolling Stone does cover the news too, you know — it’s not just a music magazine. It’s won awards for its news coverage. Sometimes bad guys make the news.
I don’t know, this seems kind of like punishing the messenger. The article doesn’t sympathize with him or paint him in a good light in any way; it’s an attempt to understand how a kid like that could do something so terrible.
As predicted by those who understood it, Obamacare is making health care costs drop (which is exactly the opposite of what opponents said would happen, of course). We’ve already seen that happen in California, and now New York is seeing the same.
“Provisions of the Affordable Care Act that have already been implemented and constrained government payments to doctors and hospitals appear to be trickling down to consumers, in the form of less expensive insurance plans, and cheaper drugs and treatments,” says The Week.
Admittedly, this will not be true in every state. Some will see rises, but from what I understand, it is mostly because Obamacare is making those states cover more than they used to whereas in other states, they had already been covered. In other words, in states where there was already a mandated coverage from state regulation (mostly Democratic states as you’d guess), Obamacare appears to have brought prices down, whereas in states where insurance companies did not cover much (mostly Republican states) and are now required to cover more, the prices will go up a bit.
I am no economist — far from it — but I did want to point this out as a counter to the constant drone that this would make all insurance costs go up. Perhaps some of you reading this may have more expertise on this to contribute, and hopefully as free from political bias as possible, because I’d really like to know the facts free from spin.
Fox News knows. That’s why they are always fighting for those who are discriminated against: Men. Christians. Heterosexuals. Non-minorities. The wealthy.
Those poor downtrodden members of society. How they’ve been mistreated over the years.
(Here’s the latest example, wherein we should all be decrying the terrible discrimination that men have suffered under.)
Thank God (and I mean “God” literally, you heathens trying to take away God-given rights to mention God as many times in a sentence as God demands. God god god) that someone is fighting these battles for us.
Because clearly, allowing others to be equal only makes everyone else second-class.
And if there’s one thing these people don’t want, it’s to be treated as second-class. That’s a big worry. Soon, for instance, whites will be the minority in America and that’s a terrible thing — do you realize how terribly minorities are treated in this country?

A white teenager wearing a Confederate flag t-shirt was walking through a black neighborhood. My client, a black man, confronted him and said “Hey, you asshole punk, what are you doing here?” My client had a gun which he legally was allowed to carry. The kid tried to fight off my client but eventually my client shot the kid to death.
Simple, right? I mean, why is the DA even wasting his time on this case when my client is obviously not guilty?
