Mueller is a registered Republican, appointed by a Republican Attorney General, approved by Republicans in Congress.
So clearly this is a Democratic witch hunt.

Well, Trump is in trouble again, and that means it’s time for the Republican’s favorite pastime, the Clinton Distraction Game!
“The Whitewater scandal! That’ll get them!”
(Millions of dollars later)
“Okay, but THIS time we got them! The Vince Foster scandal!”
(Millions of dollars later)
“Okay, so there was nothing there either. The Clinton sex scandal!”
(Millions of dollars later)
“Okay, so no crimes were committed. Benghazi! This time for sure!”
(Millions of dollars later)
“Fine, fine. Hillary’s emails! Hoo boy, we got her good now!”
(Millions of dollars later)
“So maybe there was nothing with the emails. But Clinton and the Russians! We can’t lose this time!”
(etc. etc. ad infinitum)
When I was a kid, the Russians were the Bad Guys that all the movies and TV shows warned us about. This was especially true concerning Republicans and conservatives, who proclaimed that the Rooskies were out to destroy our way of life any way they could.
Well, the Russians learned. The way to win is a lot more subtle than blatant warfare. Now they use other means. They infiltrate other governments and influence them through the media. They plant their people in key positions, bribe them to favor their ways, and otherwise make sure they win to promote their radically conservative philosophy.
And they have won. Look at Brexit, where Russia made sure stupid Brits voted out of fear. They tried again in France but lost. But, of course, they won the big one with Trump, a man who has many Russian connections and who has insulted every single person and group except the Russians.
And where are the conservatives and Republicans now? You guessed it. Russia is their best friend. Many conservative leaders admire Putin, the strong-arm leader who doesn’t care about democracy or anyone who disagrees with him. I’ll bet they wish they had his power to just kill those damned journalists who question him.
If the Republicans of my childhood could see what their party has become, I’m sure they’d think it was “fake news.”
In any event, the special prosecutor will start handing down indictments soon concerning Russian influence. Republicans who spent years trying to find anything on the Clintons and coming up empty-handed will claim this is a “witch hunt” and otherwise will try to pretend there’s nothing there, because that’s what evil stooges do.
And the Russians will be laughing at us the whole way.
There’s the one thing I always have to wonder about religious people and UFO/alien buffs.
Why is it that out of all the holy books in all of the religions all over the world, not one contains any information that would not have been known by the primitive people at the time?

sometimes they overlap
You’d think one of those gods would have said, “Hey, the earth isn’t flat, and it revolves around the sun. Also, diseases are caused by germs. Everything is made of atoms. There’s an entire other continent across the ocean. Slavery is actually a bad thing. Plus the Red Sox will win the World Series in 2004.”
Nope. Instead we get talking snakes, world-wide floods, people living in whales, angels, devils, and unicorns. It’s almost as if all of these books were written by primitive sheep herders instead of being the Word of God or something.
And the UFO buffs kind of fall into this same category. If flying saucers have been visiting and watching us for thousands of years (because they like building pyramids and stonehenges or something), why has not a single piece of evidence been found? Surely some alien would have dropped something over those years. (If you dropped an iphone forty years ago people would have thought it was some alien technology.) Maybe a piece of a spaceship would have fallen off and we’d have some unusual metal. Or perhaps one of those alien abductors could have said, “Yo, here’s the Grand Unified Theory.”
But then again, as I’ve said before, one of the biggest mysteries to me in life is how otherwise intelligent, rational people will ignore all logic and facts when they really want to believe something.
And ironically, many of the religious folks laugh at the UFO crowd while the UFO crowd laugh at the religious folks despite their similarities.

I’ve seen some posters say “I don’t know why women who run into a Harvey Weinstein don’t just say ‘no’ or report him.”
For the same reason that a bunch of powerful, wealthy white men (senators and congressmen) are putting up with our Abuser-in-Chief. Look what happens to the people who say no.
They are fired, mocked, publicly humiliated, demeaned, have their qualifications discredited, their character assassinated and get pilloried in the court of public opinion. 45s loyalists troll them on social media and in sympathetic news media. They’ll be cut out of lucrative deals and not invited to business and social events where important things happen and movers and shakers talk. Favors and contracts will be withheld. A whisper in an ear will close doors on new jobs or plum appointments. And while 45 may not swing a punch, we see plenty of angry sympathizers ready to escalate to violence with a hint of permission that are scary enough to make anyone hesitate to rock the boat.
This is how abusers work, whether it’s a small-town bully, a gaslighting boyfriend or an emotionally abusive father. The pattern against those who are targeted or who dare to speak out or say no is ignore, mock, discredit, isolate, demean, destroy.
Intimidation is abuse.
So if Congress can be intimidated by a master abuser, let’s not throw shade on young actors and actresses who knew that no one would have listened to them when they were ‘nobody’ against a powerful person who had the ability to destroy their lives.
